It can make some of the most realistic and detailed character models you’ve ever seen in video games. The PlayStation 5 is a powerhouse when it comes to graphics. And while developers keep making games that are harder and harder to play on the console, here are some that have character creators that are just as amazing.
Saints Row
The 2022 Saints Row reboot isn’t as good as the other games in the popular series, but it is the first Saints Row game for next-generation platforms and it has the characters you’ve come to love. The creator menu is seamlessly integrated into the opening cinematic. As your character goes into their closet, someone calls to ask to meet with them.
While you look at the many new features, music plays in the background. This gives you the time to make the Boss you want, who will lead your fellow Saints into crazy open-world action. You can also go back to the character maker at any time during the game and change funny things like the censor bars that show the body.
Wild Hearts
Even though Wild Hearts is a new RPG monster-hunter game, it had to have a character maker just like the games that came before it. There are also a lot of settings and styles to try out when making a character, and they can be used before going to the mysterious naturally-filled areas of Azuma.
The game lets you play with other people and has some amazing and unique monsters that are based on Kemono, which is a natural process where different elements come together. The Karakuri system is what makes the game unique; it lets you build barriers, traps, and other things that will help you move around and fight.
Atlas Fallen
Focus Entertainment and Deck13, the company that made The Surge, made this action-adventure RPG. It plays like Dune, Forspoken, and Monster Hunter had a baby and called it Atlas Fallen. Your character interacts with a magical gauntlet that can talk and make weapons appear. You then move through a sand-filled world and fight different fantasy animals, with the option to play with a friend.
The game doesn’t start with the character creator screen. Instead, it’s introduced as a plot point when you play as an Avatar Na’vi-like character in a tutorial part. This character is the spirit inside the Gauntlet, and he needs your help to fight a huge beast. Even though there are only two voice choices, there are a lot of ways to make it your own for either gender.
GreedFall
The main character of the historical fantasy role-playing game GreedFall is the minister De Sardet of Teer Fradee. This character can be either male or female, and can be changed in any way you want during character creation. In the customization settings, the hair and other options can only be changed by moving a slider. They are not set up as tiles that you can preview like in other games.
In the beginning movie, De Sardet is shown posing for a portrait by a painter, which is how you create a character. Once you have your look, you can choose a starting class. GreedFall is a lot like Dragon Age and The Witcher series. It’s a fantasy game where you can fight enemies using magical skills and powers.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Team Ninja, the company that made the Nioh games, is working on Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Nioh 2 had a character maker. The story takes place in China during the Han Dynasty, and the world is full of evil enemies and scary giant bosses that you have to beat in the usual FromSoftware style. You can also play with other people if you don’t want to do things by yourself.
It’s already possible to make pretty good character designs from the look templates. Many people have even figured out how to bring famous real-life people, like singer Michael Jackson or horror and rock star Rob Zombie, to life in this fantasy Han China setting. This already looks like a legendary method for making things.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns
This Marvel-themed turn-based strategy game from Firaxis came up with a clever way to let you make your character during the game instead of before it starts. You can already play as a huge number of Marvel characters in Midnight Suns, but after a few tasks, you can awaken a new hero called The Hunter and change how they look.
From the moment they are introduced, The Hunter will be a part of your main group of Marvel heroes for all tasks after that.In Midnight Suns, fights are turn-based, and you build decks of cards that have a hero’s skills or attacks on them. Each member of the team can also wear different clothes to make them look their best in the comics.
Grand Theft Auto Online
GTA Online is one of the most well-known online games out there. You can make your own character and live in the huge GTA city playground. Your character can own businesses, pull off heists, and customize high-end cars. You and your friends will get a lot of use out of this great online mode with a huge amount of information.
In the beginning of GTA Online’s character maker, you walk into the mugshot room at the Los Santos police station. Your character holds up a black-and-white sign with the suspect’s name and number. The interface looks and works like the main GTA 5 screen, and the coolest thing about this mode is that you can change how your clothes and shoes look.
Biomutant
Biomutant was a game that showed a lot of promise before it came out. The system for making characters is one place where it really shines. Because their powers change how they look, you can make a mutant that is completely unique to your tastes by choosing one of six Breeds and then a Class like Commando, Sentinel, or Psi-Freak.
As the name suggests, you can change the way your animal creature looks by mutating it. This can lead to some really cool and unique patterns that also show how your stats will change. You can make a lot of fun characters in this open-world fantasy role-playing game that lets you use guns and hack and slash to fight.
Code Vein
In a way similar to Atlas Fallen, the anime-inspired Souls-like Code Vein starts its character creation system with a figure talking to you. You can choose to give your character a name first or go straight to the maker. With the different purifier mask choices and the chance to look like main characters from other video games, like 2B from NieR: Automata, it can also lead to some cool characters.
Also, like NieR: Automata, you’re in a post-apocalyptic world called Vein. You’re fighting a completely different enemy called Revenants, which are vampire-like dead bodies that have bugs in their hearts. The supernatural is a bigger part of this game than in Redfall or Evil West, but the story and gameplay are better.
Crusader Kings 3
As far as easy-to-play big strategy games go, Crusader Kings 3 is one of Paradox Interactive’s best. If you want to play a king from the Middle Ages, this game is perfect for you. It has also been updated several times, most recently with an option that lets you make your own ruler.
It’s a very detailed maker system that uses customization points to charge for a lot of different traits, like family ties, genetic traits, and even your ability to be diplomatic. Being able to build your ruler in any way you want makes the game more fun, but the dynasty has a very low chance of survival.
Final Fantasy 14
Final Fantasy 14 has become one of the most famous MMORPGs out there, even though the original version wasn’t perfect when it came out. When the Endwalker expansion pack came out, Square Enix had to temporarily stop selling the game to keep the demand on their computers in check. This is even more true now.
The main game has a powerful character maker that lets players set up all the important parts of their character. Some of these are race, gender, clan, and starting numbers for skills like strength and dexterity. Remant 2
In the follow up to Remnant: From the Ashes, you have to make a character right from the start, before the first movie even starts. The major change is to the voice options, but the details should look the same.With six different voices for each male and female player character in Remnant 2, all of which were voiced by well-known artists, there is a lot more variety.
When you get to Ward 13 later in the game, you can choose your job. An older version of Wallace will walk you through the process. All of the characters from the previous games are back in the game, along with the Souls-style gunplay action. The Root is once again the enemy that needs to be defeated across all worlds.
Street Fighter 6
The story mode in Street Fighter 6 has been completely changed by the addition of a new single-player mode called World Tour. In this mode, you can make your own character, travel to different places in an open-world RPG style, and fight enemies like in Yakuza. But this mode has a lot more to give.
The character creation menu is shown as icons at the top of the screen instead of the usual view on the side. It goes into great detail so that you can make a huge number of funny combinations with your character’s height and body type. Your body can be huge but your head is too small, or you can be as tall as a giant but have a thick neck and a small head.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 had a rough start, to say the least. But after more than a year of bug fixes and improvements, the PlayStation 5 version is now getting a lot more positive reviews than it did when it first came out. When you think of the game’s character maker, the first thing that probably comes to mind are the customizable genitalia. This may not be what you were expecting, though.
At the very least, this shows how thorough and fine-grained the character creator can get. Because there are so many ways to change how a character looks and acts, you could spend hours making them unique before going into Night City.
Diablo 4
As usual for a Diablo game, you can pick from the five classes: Necromancer, Rogue, Druid, Barbarian, and Sorcerer. You can also fully design your character before you go on the scary journey into Sanctuary and fight Lilith’s forces. You can play around with a lot of different colors for your eyes, hair, skin, and even the paint on your marks if you want them.
PS5 players will love Diablo 4 because it has one of the best stories you can find on the system and has great graphics and character building. Flappy Bird looks and plays like a top-down RPG, and you’ll find friendly allies in the mysterious places who can help you along the way.
Elden Ring
The Soulsborne genre has always been geared toward people who like games with a lot of challenges. But now that Elder Ring is out, a lot of people are finding the fun of the FromSoftware formula for the first time. And the biggest draw of the game is its huge open world where players are free to fight all the monsters that live there.
As part of that freedom, you can make totally customizable character builds that work for a variety of play styles. Of course, this starts with the character maker, where players can change how they look and pick a class that affects their strength, endurance, and intelligence. Armoring yourself from head to toe for most of the game is nice, but it’s also great to see how many choices there are for people who are willing to take the time to make the perfect avatar.
Demon’s Souls
The first Demon’s Souls came out in 2009 for the PS3. It was praised for introducing a number of new ideas, but one of its biggest flaws was that it didn’t let you make very many characters. You can imagine how happy the fans were when they found out that Bluepoint Games would be making a new version of the game for the PS5.
The PS5’s extra features are used to great effect in the remake of Demon’s Souls, which also has a character generator that is much better than the one in the original game. No longer do players have to use models that look a lot like monsters. You can change a lot of things about the new game, just like you would expect from a new RPG. With the PS5’s brand-new graphics, those figures have never looked more real and full of detail than they do now.
