One important part of making a game is creating characters. These people bring the world to life with their carefully thought-out traits, unique looks, and hobbies and interests. To get to the level of realism that developers should aim for, they need to be as different as real people. Players can connect with the world and the NPCs they meet better this way.
Characters can have a wide range of interests and jobs that are similar to real life choices. One job that might not seem too clear is being an artist. A lot of people would say that video games are also art because they are an important part of society. Putting an artist in the game is a good way to show this because it shows how creative the makers are.
Maxine Caulfield – Life is Strange
The graphics in Life is Strange look like they were painted by hand, and the main character is a photographer-to-be at a famous school. The game puts a lot of emphasis on creative artists. Max’s school life is more than just going to a normal school and dealing with the complicated problems of being a teenager. She learns that she can turn back time and even use her photos to go back to a certain point in time.
During the game, there will be times when players can use Max’s trusty Polaroid camera to capture a moment in time. This shows that if someone has an artistic mind like Max, they can find art in everyday things.
Mickey Mouse – Epic Mickey
Disney’s attempt to make a Mickey Mouse game by itself Epic People don’t seem to remember Mickey very well, but it is still one of the most unique and fun Disney games. The story takes place in a place called the Wasteland, which is a home for old or unused Disney figures. One day, Mickey is playing with the Wasteland creators paintbrush when he makes the Shadow Blot by mistake. It starts to hurt the land and the people who live there.
The paintbrush is the player’s main tool because it can be used to make platforms or erase them, which changes the world around them. With paint, Mickey can also change the way enemies act to make them friendlier. These are just a few of the creative ways he used paint to explore the risks of the Wasteland.
The Painter – Layers of Fear
There is no doubt that Layers of Fear has great art direction; the way the game looks is its best feature. The player controls the Painter, who has lost his mind because his personal life has fallen apart outside of work. For example, his wife left him with their daughter after one of his drunken attacks in which he hit her.
As his name suggests, the Painter shows his artistic side by painting. Before she was burned badly in a fire, his wife was his model. As players move through the game, they will go back to the studio from time to time to see how the picture is coming along. The painting could be a deformed and scarred version of his wife, his own face, or a picture of his wife and daughter, depending on what the player chooses. No matter what the outcome is, the picture is a great example of the Painter’s skill.
Gordy – Story of Seasons: a Wonderful Life
The charming farm simulation game Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life lets players get away from the stress of everyday life and live off the land in the peaceful Forgotten Valley with the bachelors and bachelorettes. Players can get closer to the people in the valley in order to start dating and finally get married.
Gordy is one of the bachelors. He is thoughtful and creative, and you can often find him with his arms crossed, deep in thought as he looks for ideas for his next piece. His next sculpture, which is usually a surreal metal work, is made right away when the idea hits him. When it comes to art forms, metal sculpture is pretty unique, and it shows how creative Gordy is.
Carmina Mora – Dead by Daylight
Carmina Mora is one of the scary killers in Dead by Daylight. By her story, she was an artist, and that’s what she goes by in Wordle Unlimited. This part of her past is shown in her map, the Eyrie of Crows, where blotches of ink float up into the sky. Her arms also look less like flesh and bone and more like thick, dark ink, which she uses to make the crows she throws across the map.
Carmina used to be an artist and draw the beautiful lakes near her home before she became known as the Artist. Carmina’s life changed when her brother died, and a group of crows stopped her from committing suicide. In Rapture, there is supposed to be no trouble, so people can escape to a perfect world. But paradise is difficult without art and culture. That’s where Sander Cohen comes in. He’s a master of many artistic trades, if you can enjoy the fantasy that comes from being crazy. He is a poet, playwright, painter, sculptor, and officially crazy. He is one of the key bad guys in BioShock and has an interesting way of getting ideas.
Cohen is known for turning pain into beauty, and he works hard to make this idea come to life in his work. He often puts another artist in a trap that is meant to hurt them while he works. For example, in the first game, there is a famous scene where he puts a piano in an electric trap and asks them to play his masterpiece while he paints. The musician ends up dying in the trap. Cohen is without a doubt the most creative and one-of-a-kind artist. His process and work are the most unique and horrifyingly amazing.
